Stay-at-Home Nerd

My handsome roommate and I are both feeling under the weather today. It's rainy and damp outside, so it's the perfect day to curl up with a giant pajama-like shirt, a cup of peppermint tea (my mother's cure-all), and a few good books.

Stay-at-Home Nerd

Random P.S. Did you see Lauren's recent utilitarian outfit--it struck me as the perfect summer-to-fall transition outfit.

I can't believe you got dressed up when you were feeling sick -- what a trooper!

I really like the combination of the boots and the skirt. You look great, friend! Hope you feel better soon -- both of you!

thank you thank you!! i am faring better than christopher who is lying on the couch watching basketball and looking bleary eyed (boys are so funny when they're sick!).
@kate--the boots aren't dirty, but i cannot for the LIFE of me get the residue of the wax mold they build the boots in off of the boots!!! i recently took a magic eraser to them and still...oh well!

I love this whole look - so cool and classy. I can't get the residue off my Wellies either - maybe it's a part of their charm? Yours are such a great color. They'd make me smile in the rain!

That sounds like the perfect day. And your outfit is perfect for the perfect day. Love how cosy and cute you look, especially with the boots.

This is so perfect, Tania! I just donated a miniskirt just like that and now I'm kicking myself. Hope you have a nice day inside and feel 100% soon!

This is off-topic, and I know you read for school, but are there any books you'd recommend? Something interesting, or something that made you think?

Those Hunters are awesome. Leave it to the Brits to make marsh-marching rubber boots so chic!

I love your outfit, it's so cozy! I have a feeling I might want to be feeling "under the weather" so I can cuddle up with tea, too. Thanks for the idea! ;)

Feel better, love.

Aww sorry you and Christopher are feeling under the weather---but sounds like the perfect almost-fall day :) Hope you enjoyed! And I neeeeed a pair of Hunter boots!

i have those boots, exact same color, and i cannot understand why they always look like a pound of flour was dumped on them. i guess it's good to see that others have had a similar outcome. they look very cute with that outfit.

I love the wellies. Have them in patent black and absolutely adore them.

Looks like the perfect autumnal outfit. xx:)

There's one tell-tale sign that you aren't quite yourself today: no belt! I hope today was restorative :-)

PS That shirt is fantastic.

i likey! i just bought a vintage plaid shirt the other day and can't wait to wear it this fall. i think it was originally a little boy's shirt because the buttons are on the wrong side, and it has collar stays (my husband had to tell me what those were, lol).
