Speaking of Basics

Speaking of basics, when I was in college, my sartorially-inventive sister went on a mission to make my then all-gray wardrobe more exciting. For birthdays and Christmases, she bought me classic pieces with a little bit of oomph. A striped zip-up sweatshirt, a navy tee shirt with a high neck and big buttons, and this top, which I love. It's a super-versatile white button-up, but it has a sweet row of ruffles and buttons, an interesting cap sleeve, and a great fitted cut.

Speaking of Basics

It's still super warm here this week, so I'm trying to get wear out of a bunch of pieces that won't see the light of day as often in the winter (like the button-up, which I usually forgo for long-sleeved shirts). Though I'm still feeling summery, I tried to add a little dash of fall with the wool flats.

Speaking of Basics

Nevermind the forecast of 90 degree weather, tomorrow is the first official day of autumn! I luurrrve summer, but even I am getting a little overheated after four months of summer, and I'll be ready with scarves and tights when the cooler weather gets here.

I love this basic look. I think it should be called classic instead. very beautiful, even with the wet hair. How long did it take you to grow your hair that long? Has it always been that long? I love it.

90* still? Craziness. It's already beginning to feel like fall here in Boston. Enjoy the warm but not too hot temps! - Katy

Gorgeous blouse! I love the idea of adding bits of "oomph" to still comfortable items.

And today is so warm, I can hardly believe it! Autumn, come back!

The blouse is so pretty -- I really like the little buttons on the ruffles - it makes it so interesting, but still classic :-)

I love grey, too! Especially tissue-thin tees. Or snuggly sweaters. Or my boots. I could go on. . . :)

The third picture is surely one to enter a "Most beautiful natural smile on earth" contest...this is nearing perfection, Tania.

Can you please give me some stuff i can criticize? Lately, you looked utterly brilliant and i am afraid, you get tired of my complimenting your posts every day.

Thx :)
