I made a rookie mistake putting together this outfit yesterday. When I got up in the morning, it was a brisk 62 degrees--FALL!--so I put on boots (and a jacket). But by midday, it was 83 degrees--SUMMER!--so my jacket was stuffed in my bike basket and my sweaty ankles were regretting the boots. Despite the overheated calves, it was a good day because it was day with my two favorite seasons and a very enjoyable book in my bag.

I haven't broken out my boots yet... it's pretty much similar temperatures here in Michigan. It's freezing in the morning, then warm in the afternoons.

It is certainly that time of year, where the day starts like autumn and by the afternoon it's summer again. Like you, I enjoy that, though it takes some stylistic preparation. It looks like you thought ahead by wearing some layers. And I love those boots - they have such great character to them, and I always love reddish-brown with black.

Oh it's lovely! I really like black and tan as a combo and the patterned scarf just adds the right touch of jazz to it.
Yeah I totally did that the other day. I got all dressed up in a skirt & sleveless shirt, then went outside. Yeah I had to switch to pants & a better top! Love your dress & the boots! =) The scarf is a cute touch!

I live in middle Georgia and am having the exact same problem with dressing right now! And by the afternoon, the cute cardigan that tied my outfit together has to be taken off because I'm sweating. Love your outfit,the brown and black together is classic.

I've been pondering this very thing for a blog post. The challenge for dressing for EVERYthing one might encounter in a day. Some days, I'm only in the classroom. Some days, I have meetings with important people. And some days, I have to contend with weather extremes.
