ITwenty-Three

I'm always relieved when an outfit comes together and it just works. I love it; I feel like myself; I can bicycle in it (with bike shorts); and it has just a little bit of color (what? the shoes count!). This does not always happen. I swear half the time I look like a hot mess in real life--sweaty in the summer, carrying a huge bookbag, not blessed by Christopher's ingenious meddling with lighting and angles.

Twenty-Three

On another, entirely random note, I just want to say THANK YOU for reading What Would a Nerd Wear. I don't say enough how grateful I am for my readers, for the people who leave sweet comments which make me feel so good, and for the funny and thoughtful formspring questions. I am even thankful for the lurkers! It is surprising and I am humbled that more than a dozen people want to see what I'm wearing and I'm so glad that you keep coming back here. It is such a pleasure to write for more than just my mother. So, hugs to you all today! I very much appreciate you.

Well you have smart style and a sweet personality! Go ahead and reverse those adjectives and give yourself credit for that, too. The point is, what's not to like?

Ain't love grand? Your blog is lovely--such a sweet escape. Also, you are inspiring me to take fashion chances! Yesterday I wore an extraneous belt--look, Mom, no loops!--and I felt so daring and devious all day long.

This outfit just seems very you --- love the polka dots and everything. With the closed shoes, does this mean your foot is all better? :)

I love your blog, and I appreciate all the time you put into it.

My mother is my most dedicated reader too and comments on pretty much every post. At least now she doesn't sign them all "love, mom" at the end anymore. The wordpress stats suggest there are others coming to my blog, although they tend to lurk more than comment.

Aww you're so sweet. ^_^ I love your take on style and your blog is a pleasure to read.

I wish I could see those shoes better cuz they look a-mazing but I have a feeling they're even more a-mazing close up.

Aww thank you! I very much appreciate you too. Quite apart from the daily dose of your summery style that I muchly enjoy, I don't think I'd ever have attempted making my own clothes without the aid of your wonderful tutorial.

Your blog definitely has a unique niche. Most of the blogs I follow are all about high fashion and street style, but you demonstrate that you can look good without being impractical and smart girls can like fashion too. lol. And haha, I found out a few days ago that my mom reads my blog. It was kind of off-putting... :p

I'm usually a "lurker" and just wanted to say I love your blog! I'm also a grad student and am always looking for a new ideas on how to mix things up and look simultaneously cool and like an adult (a struggle when I still want to wear my oversized Harley Davidson t-shirt). You have some great style ideas here!
