(Sorry, my trusty "blog pose" strikes again).

My things from Ruche came yesterday--about a week earlier than I anticipated (yay!) so I had to wear this dress today. I'd never bought things from Ruche before, but the prices were super reasonable and I was getting tired of my stand-by stores. I love the top I got, which will debut soon. The cut and color of this dress is fantastic, although I can't help wishing it were two inches longer and lined.

Three

I thought lemon yellow would pop nicely next to the dress pattern, especially against the other neutrals--brown shoes, wood earrings. My trusty birkenstocks are perfect with a shorter hemline, plus they make my still-broken toe feel more comfortable after a weekend of playing in the backyard. I know I'll get this question, so I'll answer it now: yes, I did bike in this, and yes, you do need bike shorts to do so comfortably!

I love the use of yellow in your wardrobe lately. This dress is really pretty -- I could see it fitting in at the farm park :)

Love the dress. I've never shopped at Ruche either but I've been cruising it for after this 30 for 30 challenge is over.

That's such a pretty dress. I honestly wouldn't worry about the length - it looks great on you.

I love the pattern of the dress, and it does look really nice with the yellow cardigan.

If nothing else, the somewhat minimal amount of fabric in the dress (shorter and unlined) should make it nice and comfy for warm temps, and it certainly doesn't look inappropriate in any way.

Nice combination!

I'm a new reader and I love, love the skirts you've made. You mentioned the dress lining, so I've been meaning to ask you, do you line your skirts? I'm hoping to make one very soon! Thanks, love your blog.

@E: thank you! I don't line them, mostly because I don't really know how. I could probably fudge it with some help from my mother, but most of them don't actually need to be lined--they are made of thick cotton or linen so they aren't see through and they're heavy enough to stay in place while I bike around.

I love the print of your dress, and I would never have thought to wear that colour with a yellow cardigan, it really works though!! You look lovely!

The dress is really gorgeous. It looks so relaxing and comfortable (can a dress be relaxing?). All right, I'm sleepy now because I just had lasagna for lunch and everything looks quiet, calm and relaxing. Maybe I should take some rest now before my classes. Have a wonderful day! :)

The combination is beautiful! You're right to add the yellow sweater-- it adds the perfect pop :)

Oh, and those shoes of mine you liked are Chacos. They may not be fashionable, but oh are they comfy-- and nice to hike in!

Ooh fun! The dress is adorable on you. I think it's the perfect length while just standing, but yeah, biking would be a different story. So would Easter Egg hunts.

Cute dress! I often wear my new clothes the day I get them, even if they are still wrinkled from shipping. I just can't resist. :)

Love the dress! The color combo is so cute.

You are a brave, brave girl to bike in this. I have tried to bike in a dress at school and failed...miserably!
