Guys, remember that lobster dress I was dying over a few weeks ago? IT'S MINE NOW. Here is the whole miraculous story for your Monday morning.

Over a month ago when I first noticed the best-dress-ever-sewn, I put it in my shopping cart at Anthro online and waited with bated breath to see if it would go on sale. Finally, it did! 50% off! But because I am slow about big purchases (which this was, even at 50% off), I waited a day and when I came back to buy it, it was sold out in my size! A darker tragedy had never loomed over me. Still, I left the out of stock dress in my online shopping cart, just in case.

For a few days, I mourned the loss of the lobster dress which would never be mine. When I logged into Anthro a few days later, the lobster dress was all gone in every size. I saw my dreams of owning a lobster dress vanish in front of my eyes. But then, all of a sudden it reappeared in my shopping cart IN STOCK. I wasn't sure if this was some kind of trick of the universe--where did this magic dress in my size come from? Had someone returned it to the store (why you would return a lobster print dress is beyond me)? But I didn't ask too many questions; I swooped it up instead. And here it is--the magic lobster dress. And it is marvelous.
P.S. You might be asking yourself "What occasion would call for a lobster dress?" to which I might respond "What occasion doesn't call for it?"

I love this dress, and I adore its story! Don't you love when things like that happen? It's like it was meant to be yours all along. I can't think of an occasion where this dress wouldn't be perfect.
I love when the fashion fairies make our wishes come true! This dress looks darling on you!
You look lovely - what an eclectic summery piece. Stories like that make me think of purchases that are meant to be.
Ahhh OMG!!! Yay, you got it! I absolutely adore that dress. It's still sitting in my cart with the 'out of stock' note. I'm leaving it in there in hopes of a similar miracle ;-)
Yay! Finally the post I craved!
I have a friend who is terrified of crustaceans. Perhaps someone gave the dress as a gift to someone with a similar phobia, and that's how this miracle came about....
I completely agree with you. This is one gorgeous dress. I'd wear it anytime anywhere myself (and feel really put together!).
Enjoy it!
BEYOND jealous!! I too stalked this dress, celebrated when it went on sale and died a little inside when my size was gone before I even had a chance. :( So glad you got it though--it looks great on you!
And seriously, where can you NOT wear a lobster dress??
Hurrah! I love a happy ending.
It was a sign! The dress looks perfect on you!

Love your story! The print of that dress is magical.
Love it! So cute :)
I love shopping cart miracles!
Hahaha...love it on you! I first saw this dress on Courtnee at Moments of Whimsy, but you both wore it so differently. It looks lovely on you. And I feel compelled to confess that I worked at a Red Lobster during college...just saying.
LOVE this dress - glad it's finally yours.
I'm so glad that you finally have this dress! It's adorable! You're so freaking cute. ♥
Ah, it was fate! I'm also really slow about every buying anything from Anthro (because it's all 9 zillion dollars) but this would be WORTH IT.
Ha! I love when that happens. This is an adorable dress and it looks as though it fits you perfectly. Obviously meant to be. There's a "Friends"-related joke about you finding your lobster in this somewhere...
as gorgeous as i imagined. i love it!
Haha, nice story with a happy ending! I'm glad you got it, girl! =) It's a lovely dress indeed!
Cheers!
"Meant to be" are pretty much short words to what happened... It was beyond meant to be... The whole universe collaborated with that purchase... Right now I have the same situation with a LWD, I hope it ends the same way
BTW I looooove the blog's new look!!! I have a Challenge for you, do an outfit inspired by the colors of your flag (or the flag of the your favorite country) like I did in my blog: http://ella-fashionista.blogspot.com/2010/06/usando-una-bandera-wearing-flag.html
Are you in?
That is fantastic! I agree, what WOULDN'T you wear a lobster dress to?
A friend of ours loves lobsters, in fact, she had a loaf of bread baked in the shape of a lobster for her birthday last year :D
Enjoy the dress, it's perfect!
Cool dress, such an unusual print, I love it!!
From Carys of La Ville Inconnue
oo i love it!
I love the fit, the cut, etc...but can't get over the lobsters...just too bizarre for my taste, (I also saw it on another blogger recently, too), I just think of a large lobster bib at a seafood restaurant. But you def. pull it off better than the other person i saw wearing it!! And as long as you like it, that is ALL that matters.
Great story and great dress! You look adorable. I wish that would happen for me with the Two-wheeler dress.
Hurray for pop-backs! Looks great on you.
Oh my gosh, that is by far the most awesome dress ever, and I'm so glad you snagged it!!! It fits your style so perfectly.

Hee. The dress and you were fated to end up together. It's charming. :)
What a great story! It was totally meant to be as I don't think anyone else could pull off a whole dress full of lobsters quite as seamlessly as you do.
Dressed for dinner or dinner on a dress, either way, it's too awesome!!!
I'm so jealous, along with so many of the other commenters, Tania!
I too had my eye on the Salty Seas dress, but I hesistated even once it hit sale. I was debating taking a chunk of my birthday money gifts and buying the dress, but alas I waited too long.
It's so fun and lovely on you!
YAY I'm so glad you snagged this awesome find!
Wow. That dress was clearly meant to be yours! What an awesome story. :)
You look terrific in the dress. Lobsters never looked more fabulous! xoxo
Pretty! Pretty Lady! .. P.S. Your blog isn't coming up on Bloglovin' ... It says needs invitation from the blog owner or something :)
Luv it!! xx
As you say, this lovely lobster dress is perfect for most any occasion. For instance, you can wear it to a fund raiser for the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust (http://kporttrust.squarespace.com/), a lobster and clam bake or biking around town. But, it is best worn for protection when you are vacuuming dust balls from under beds where lobsters are known to hide and leap out and your grab toes with their claws. They leave you alone if you are wearing a lobster dress.
The print really is amazing. So glad you it's yours now!
Ha, great story, great lobster dress :)
That dress it too much, its wayyyy to cute, I want!

I have been looking at that dress every day for months! The price was my hesitation, of course, but I'm so glad to at least see someone else wearing it. I love it and can live vicariously through you, haha. I'd totally wear it out to a seafood place. Such literal/corny coordination of my clothing to location amuses me to no end!
I'm glad you found it at a reduced price! I saw a few on the sale racks before I finished making my lobster skirt, and if it had fit properly, I probably would have bought it. I wasn't comfy with the straps, though (and petites sold out online).
I snagged the lobster dress too! It saved me during the insane weather in Florida last weekend. I love your Clarks wedges. I've been eyeing them for work shoes--are they comfy? I'm always on the hunt for comfortable and cute footwear.
I was just walking my dog, downtown Chicago and saw a girl wearing the cutest lobster print dress. I come in and google "lobster print dress", not really expecting to find it and BOOM! there you and the dress are...I dont know how I missed it at Anthro. I am happy for you... I might try to copy the design of the dress for a fall version--squirrels?grasshoppers?
