Closet MVP

Closet MVP

Works Cited
dress: loft
tank: j crew outlet (ancient)
belt: mommed
flats: old navy
necklace: lost and found at camp

This dress has to be the piece I've worn most often since the inception of the blog. I bought it on sale in October for $9, and since then, I've found endless ways to layer it; mix it with different colors, shapes, and patterns; and now, pare it down for summer. Today, I wanted to mix it with contrasting colors--I love the way the gray-blue looks against coral. This dress is the MVP of my closet and I've worn it at least a dozen times off the blog, too.

Closet MVP

Just a clarification from Wednesday: I had no scruples about taking this necklace from the lost and found because I did so at the end of a long summer at camp, when all the kids were gone and most of the counselors packed up. I definitely didn't steal it mid-summer when its owner might have been looking for it! And it has no value: it's spray-painted gold and worth about $2 on a shiny day.

I'm so looking forward to weekend: watching the world cup, reading more Elizabeth Bowen, and lounging in the sun like a lizard. Hope you have a good one, too!

That pink singlet underneath the dress which matches the flats is such a fun way to dress up a summer outfit.

love the double wrap belt! i have a high-waist navy skirt that would definitely be my closet MVP ... but sadly it will be retired to the hall of fame soon because it is too short for the classroom!

I must say, this whole outfit is adorable! Very flattering and modern. The print and bold tank top really add the "bang" to this look. Super cute.

Can I say that I love the dress? It's so versatile! I have to look for my MVP in my own closet... maybe my leopard print ballet flats. IDK... BTW I updated my blog, check it out!

I love the coral pop of colour. Your outfits are always lovely. Planning to make a skirt using your tutorial next week having been to the fabric store today :)

I love LOFT dresses. I feel like they can live in your closet for years without losing their style or appeal. And LOFT seems to have nailed basic pieces that can be layered and styled a dozen ways.

Great dress!

The dress is definitely awesome, and what a steal!! I feel like so often it's the things I got for dirt cheap that I wear and love the most, and the expensive things that I hardly ever wear!

I just found your blog and I am really glad I did! I love your style - that is exactly how I dress! I gather that you like Old Navy and J Crew - we don't have those stores in Australia but whenever I go to America those are the first shops I go to!

I hope your day is sweet,
Maddy.
