Springing Ahead

First, an enormous thank you for all your sweet comments and votes of support on the weardrobe contest--they made me hugely happy. Even though this outfit and location (not to mention the milkmaid braids) were totally over-the-top, they were such fun to put together and a welcome break from grading papers.

Springing Ahead

I have to give credit here to Christopher, who took the most beautiful photos. Last weekend, he scouted for good locations while we took a walk; and then on Saturday, he rushed out of the house with me after calculating the "golden hour" (the hour before sunset) where the light would be best for pictures. And then he spent hours on Sunday looking up the picture on weardrobe and reporting how many votes I had back to me with a glee normally reserved for NBA playoffs.

Springing Ahead

I guess the jury is still out on the contest winner, but I'll update later in the day when I know! Good thing I made a little wish on this dandelion...

You look sooo adorably darling and so pretty!! I like the milkmaid braids on you! :) And that is SO sweet of Christopher to do that!! Even if I begged my husband, I don't think he'd do that for the sake of my blog... lol!!

P.S. I voted. Hope you win! I had a dream you were trying to win the contest for your mom. It was a trip to Europe or something! I don't remember. It was a weird dream.. hahah

Beautiful outfit! I wish I was a weardrobe member and could have voted for you. I love the braids, the sweater, the background, everything!
Also, I'm very jealous of where you live. I know we can't go back to our pasts but something I wish we could!

Aw, Christopher's dedication is so cute and sweet! It's so fun to be able to share this with your boyfriend/husband/loved one/etc. I feel really lucky that Joe gets just as excited about my photoshoots as I do.

Anyway, you look just darling! The milkmaid braids are perfect, and the photo location couldn't be more beautiful!

I am completely in love with the cardigan! I am trying to learn how to embroider so I can attempt to make something similar. The entire look is flawless -- thanks for sharing :-)

It's all so pretty and I love Christopher's sweet support. Matt also gets all carried away on my blog...he looks at my statistics and that I'm 'trending upwards'... anyways, what I'm saying is that we are lucky to have such good support...

These photos are great, and I don't think the braids are too over the top, actually! They're just the right amount of quirky. Also, love that cardigan and the ring--oh, and the sandals also. Good luck with the contest!

Go Christopher! You two really managed to capture the most beautiful light. I don't think this outfit is over the top AT ALL. I squealed in my head when I saw your hair. I need to learn how to do that better. I've done it before, but it was quite messy :)

I think the milkmaid braids are super sweet and I am wondering if my hair is long enough to do that.
