In one of the books I'm writing on this semester, one of the characters is nicknamed "Empty-Head" by her family. I'm feeling a bit empty-headed myself this morning, with my finals week to-do list squeezing all my creativity and energy right out of my brain. I felt especially blank in front of my closet this morning, so it's no wonder I ended up looking vanilla in a white tee and skirt. Let's just hope my head feels a little less empty when I start working on my papers this morning!

I'm a bike-riding bookworm in DC trying to make better use of a sometimes-vanilla closet. You can read a little more about this blog

I love your vanilla-ness. Even though you're not, haha. Pretty skirt! I've seen a couple in magazines (not elastic waistband, either!) recently that I'm going to try to replicate... love your shirt, btw.

Don't forget to enter my custom elastic waistband skirt giveaway!
I think you look great, its a simple outfit, but the skirt is such a lovely color. I know what you mean though, the end of the semester is completely scrambling my brain.
Great skirt! I love that color, can't believe you made that!
Vanilla is a good thing - I like it when you keep it simple.
Lady, you are too hard on yourself! There is nothing vanilla about this outfit. The detail on the tee, the darling flats, the tucked-in belt? All fantastic.
I need to learn how to make skirts like you wear. They are so chic, but look really comfy- and easy to dress up or down for day and night. Help!
I think you look absolutely adorable! Vanilla with butterscotch and caramel for sure!
great tee! love it!
Haha. I love when you use the term 'Vanilla' - it sounds so funny to me. I think I get what it means, but I would love to hear your take on it.

Love this skirt and the color. It's perfect for this season.
Love the color and shape of that skirt! I need to get brave and try making my own soon.
Good luck on your papers!
xoxo
Tania, you NEVER look vanilla! I love that white embellished tee with the mustard skirt. I need more mustard!!!! Good luck with finals and grading :)

Vanilla is good...classic, stylish but with a lovely pop of colour! I love that yellow...it's the kind of garment I need for tomorrow - it's election day and I'm voting Liberals and their colour is yellow! I am definitely trying to make a skirt like that after finals/papers due, I found out there's a fabric superstore about 15 minutes walk from where I live. Now to track down your pattern... :)
You look awesome. Not vanilla. Springy, cheerful, and well tailored with a dash of DIY rad-ness. What's not to like?
Also, I get the too squeeze brain syndrome. In fact, the more of my intellectual energy I use, the less I can do anything else. Like remember basic social niceties.
So glad I don't have to deal with finals anymore! You can do it though - summer is almost here! I love the color combo and the t-shirt is so pretty!
Good Luck! ' ... this too shall pass!' my motivational quote for all situations :P ... You look good in this outfit! It's very YOU! :)
There's nothing too vanilla about this outfit. I love the little applique detail on your shirt and that lovely yellow skirt!
Good luck with finals week, friend! :)
Not vanilla! The yellow looks great with your skin. I'm jealous of your pink tones.
(probably one of the weirdest sentences I've typed. Haha.)
You look like flan! Or the inside of a Milky Way Dark! He he.
I seriously love the Tania Skirt. It's just so great on you.
Love the yellow skirt. Looks very fresh and springlike with the crisp white top.
It's a beautiful outfit! I love the embellishment on the t. Would you consider selling skirts? I love all the colors you have, and the fact they have pockets. I would totally stock up!
You did the skirt?? It´s cute! And we need to be a bit "empty headed" sometimes...or we would came crazy!! xoxo

After you finish Bread Givers (such a good book), I recommend watching Black Bus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeIcuOuxQoI
I don't think this is too "vanilla" at all! In fact I rather like it. That yellow skirt is just too perfect!
Well, vanilla has never looked so good! And I understand the feeling. School is so stressful.
This looks beautiful! I can't wait to start sewing my own skirts this summer :)
Beautiful! There's something about a white embellished tee...love it. Mustard is such a great color on you.
Good luck with the end of the semester!
Do well with your finals!

I'm having a vanilla day too! You still look great – the details on the top and the fun color of the skirt really do make a difference. :)
That colour and cut of skirt looks fab on you - not at all vanilla!!

I really, really like this look. Quite simple but the colors work so well together... I'm keeping my eye out for simple but very cute looks for when I travel abroad... packing light is something I have to practice before then!
:]
totally cute skirt!
Great work on the skirt! I love the bike peeping in the frame :)
