Ah, happy, happy boughs!

Ah, happy, happy boughs!

Works Cited
white skirt: old navy (circa 2004)
belt: thrifted
beige top: j crew
sandals: old navy

Even if they are objectively no cooler, light colors always make me feel breezy and shaded. I love all the beiges, whites, and neutrals zipping around these days.

Ah, happy, happy boughs!

Recently someone commented that I should smile more in photos. I have to confess that I feel a bit awkward doing so, but I valiantly tried despite my anxiousness. Phew, that was exhausting! Back to the old head-down-standby.

Ah, happy, happy boughs!

Hope you all have a very merry weekend. I have a drool-worthy giveaway coming up next week. Stay tuned!

I love the mix of neutrals, and the detailing on your blouse is gorgeous. I love your smile, but smiling or not, you look lovely!

They are probably objectively cooler in the sunlight! You are looking summery and relaxed. Awesome.

living in Vegas...when it starts to get really hot, we have to wear light colors like this.

It's so true- I always feel cooler in lighter colors! Love those beiges and whites together- you look beautiful! And I definitely understand the difficulty of smiling... it's hard to do when it doesn't feel real- I have to think of something really funny (ricky gervais helps) while taking photos if I want a true one!

I wish I had a like of lighter colors. I think more than not liking the colors on me, I'm just likely to get them dirty!

I agree re smiling for the camera. I have no trouble when it's me and someone, or if someone is behind the camera. But not if I'm taking quickie outfit pictures before I leave for work. Heck, at least you *look* at the camera!

I agree with whomever told you to smile more in your photos. Your smile is amazing, and it really lights up your face!

I'm all about the difference simple things like smiling can make. Go ahead - lift your head up! You're beautiful, and you deserve the attention!

So pretty! I love the white skirt, I have a few flowey ones but seeing this I realize I need a more structured one! Love the top too! Yay weekend!

Man, anything that can make me feel a bit cooler in summer is so welcome, I just dread the hot days. Plus, the light, subtle colors just seem to fit the bright sun and heat well (maybe because everything appears more muted and subtle against the bright sunlight).

Great combination!

I always feel awkward smiling for photos too, and it often comes up looking kind of fruity, but you managed it ok :) Well done!

Tania, you do look brighter after this little trip. And I love when I see people smiling, you have such a beatiful smile. Well, everything I wanted now is to be on the beach drinking a coconut milk and reading a Jostein Gaarder's book. The last time I visited the beach I was 12. But that is okay. I must say that at least I am enjoying this places where you're taking your poictures and this makes me feel good :)

Have a Saturday and Sunday of bliss!

I envy those who can wear white - it tends to make me look like I got hit with the consumptive stick.

Oddly enough, part of my weekend will be spent reading Keats, so today's post title is most apt.

I swear, half of my closet is white and cream because I like those colors so much. I guess I like the breezy feel.

Aw, so cute! It's true though, smiling photos are always so much happier and therefore better! And you have a beautiful smile.

You look lovely when you smile!

The neutrals look lovely for a sunny day, I'm particularly loving the gladiator sandals though, a summer essential IMO

i have a hard time NOT smiling for the camera! my mom paid a fortune in braces & dental surgery ... i feel like i owe it to her every time someone takes a picture of me, lol!

I think you are wrong -- light colors are cooler. Dark colors absorb more heat, so you would actually be hotter in black than white.

And light colors are just so much more summery!!
