Forecast calls for gigantic thunderstorms this afternoon! I'm pretty excited, because being from the west coast where storms are pretty pathetic, midwestern thunderstorms are my weather-equivalent of a roller coaster. I'm planning on sitting in a coffee shop near a big window this afternoon and watching the rain come down while I work on a few conference abstracts.

Tut-tut, it looks like rain...

This is my other liberty of london for Target kids' skirt, and I love the way the delicate florals and tulle go with hefty rubber boots. Now if only I could find my umbrella...

P.S. Does anyone know how to get that sheen of rubber off of rainboots? I've had these for a year and no dice getting them shiny clean! Please advise!

I can't believe you got this in the kid's section! Well, maybe, it does have tulle. :) Very nice contrast btw the tulle and the boots.

I use car tire cleaner to clean the film off my Hunters. I also read about using olive oil but that definitely didn't work as well. It's not a permanent solution but I don't think there is one :) it should keep your boots clean for a good few weeks however.

This is amazing! I love the tulle and florals vs. rubber boots combo! I have no idea about rubber but my solution to every problem is the Mr Clean Magic Eraser!

The color of your top is so flattering. I heard that soapy water works for those boots. I have a pair too but I'm too lazy to take proper care of them.

I love that skirt - so great how you found it in the kid's section! I love the print! I can't wait for some massive thunderstorms. They are one of my favorite things about spring! April showers bring May flowers!

I love my hunter boots and I think that they automatically make skirts look so cute. I love this outfit - it's making me wish that I got the skirt too.

Hooray for wellies! I have read about the same treatments as Boston Brit suggested – I haven't tried them though. Today was a great day for a trench and wellies, for sure – it was my go-to as well. It got a little cold this evening though...I was freezing on my way home! That skirt is fantastic on you. :)

I remember reading somewhere that you can use some kind of oil from the kitchen to clean them. Olive? Vegetable? I think that the tire cleaner stuff would work too. That's what mine look like and I like it..

You're making me kick myself for not keeping these cutie patootie skirts.

I am totally with you on the California girl's appreciation for Midwestern rainstorms. They're the best!

I really, really want to snatch the Liberty kid skirt idea. Wonder if there are any left at Target.
