Off-Duty

Off-Duty

blue dress: urban outfitters
gray tee: banana republic
sandals: steve madden via DSW
bag: foyles bookshop
shades: um, claire's (embarrassing!)

Okay, this is actually what I wore yesterday, but once in a while, I wonder what bloggers are wearing on their off-days. And boy was it an off-day! I felt a little under the weather all weekend, so yesterday's outfit was as close to pajamas as I could get--jersey dress and cozy tee. This dress was my staple last summer, but looking at these photos today, I'm wondering if it flatters me, or whether it makes me look wider...spoozyliciouzz, your honest opinion?

Off-Duty

As you can see, Christopher and I went to fly kites in a nearby park. Sunday was amazingly windy and we'd been waiting to use kites we bought last year (eeps!). It was the perfect day for it--blue skies, warm sun, and a very brisk wind. As fun as it was, I learned that I am the worst kite-flyer on earth. My kite kept nose-diving into the ground and I lacerated my fingers with the twine in my over-eager leaping. Sigh.

P.S. I love these shoes, and they were under $20! Amazing.

I like the dress - the details make it fun! I have those EXACT sandals, from DSW! I'm excited it's finally getting warm enough to wear sandals! I forget about some of them in the long winter, it's like new shoes!

Hey Lovely, definitely not too wide. You look awesome. Two things make it stand out: the shoes (classic!) and the sun glasses...And my, i am honoured that you even think about reacting to my babbling...honestly. You made my day...sweet. *g*

I think it's really adorable on you! The structure of the bodice is so cute!

oooo that is the PERFECT "off duty" dress. shoot, i would wear it on duty, too. :) the bodice makes it really flattering. you could even put a colored belt (cinch-style of course... gotta keep it comfy) over the little band if you thought it was wide but i think it looks great the way it is. it's gonna be so nice to wear that when it's warmer.

now i can't get the "let'sss gooo flyyyy a kite!" song out of my head.

it's ok that your shades are from claires. I recently broke my fancy calvin klein pair (*sob*), and am currently wearing a $5 cheapos until I can afford another nice pair (um, and a sunglasses case! definitely need to invest in one of those). :P

that dress does not make you look wide at all!

Aww I love flying kites. Where I am doesn't get all that windy so I never get the chance til I go down the Jersey Shore. Maybe I'll try to squeeze it in this year!!

You look adorable! I love it when you find a dress that is both cute and pj comfy. Those shoes are an awesome find as well. Seeing the pictures of you fly kites makes me want to do it too.

You did not even fly kites! How??! I never figured it out and I envied the people that did! And how wholesome on a sunny day! I love the lines on your dress for such an occasion, too!

Love the lines of the dress!

I think all dresses look a bit wider with long sleeved tops underneath, especially light coloured ones. It's a really cool dress, I'm sure it's very flattering by itself!

This is a great dress! I think it makes you look a bit more curvy than you're used to, which can translate to wide if you're not used to it. Nonetheless, its a great dress and looks great on you.

I have those very same shoes--they are great, aren't they? I had them in black from last summer and indulged in a brown pair for this summer, as well. They served me nicely last weekend when I was wandering around the DC area. Yay for cute, cheap, and totally functional shoes!
