Yes, I am wearing high-waisted pleated pants. And yes, I am also wearing socks with shoes. What better time to try out new bizarre trends than when you're traveling, especially in an impossibly chic country? I can't explain my sudden desire for these high-waisted pleated pants, but when I saw them in the store, I knew I had to have them. Immediately. They feel like sweatpants and fit like clown pants and yet, I feel effortless and chic in them. Please don't correct me if I'm wrong and I look like I fell out of the Barnum and Bailey truck. These are my new favorite pants, and I'm going to wear them whether they're ridiculous or not.

On another what-has-gotten-into-me note, I've suddenly developed a penchant for the socks with shoes look. In this case, I'm not so sure I liked it with these pants--it's a little trend crazy for my personal look, although I think I'll try the socks and shoes out again when I'm back home.

When In Rome

Today, I geeked out on a literary Bloomsbury tour and took about a million pointless pictures of placards announcing which authors lived where. I also made Rachel march fruitlessly around Tavistock Sq. to find the location of the Hogarth Press, which is shockingly placard-less! Tomorrow, I'm heading off on my own to explore some museums and bookstores and give Rachel a well-deserved break for tour-guiding.

Love it, dude! If I communicated like Rachel Zoe I would say you're shutting it down.

But I don't.

You may think the outfit is bizarre, yet it all works together oddly well! I love it, thumbs up!

You know, that may be the first pair of high-waist, pleated pants that I like the look of. No offense to those who love the trend, but I never wanted to hop on that particular pants bandwagon (pantswagon?)...until now... I also like how they're reminiscent of knickers at the bottom - very apropos for England!

And if you want to talk about geeky tours, remind me to tell you about the time I tracked down the birth place of Roy Anderson, a famous parasitologist!

I like those high-waisted pants on you. They look great with the striped tee and I'm glad you kept the look simple.

As long as you're not doing the super-baggy-crotch harem floral pant look, I have zero negative comments.

Sounds like you're having a blast in the UK!

Girl, you look like one of those chic, street-style muses the Sartorialist would hunt down to take a million photos of. I love those pants and the socks/shoes thing. I might replicate this outfit when I'm done with the Dress Project :)

I laughed when you said you took a million placard photos. I did that in NYC but with the names on statues and gravestones. Because I totally wanted to remember where Alexander Hamilton is buried. :)

So glad you're having a great time!

LOVE THIS OUTFIT!!!! I never thought to put socks with shoes like you said but it works so great with everything. The pants are amazing too. I'm thinking about how to incorporate them into my closet and I think it might work haha

The pants are amazing. The socks are amazing. Love this whole look! It looks like the perfect amount of comfort and style for travelling.

I love the trousers and the color of the socks contrasted with the color of the leather. But I think a better effect would be to pair the socks with a skirt or with shorts--more slimming for your legs than cutting them off in two places below the knee.

And I love the trousers combined with the striped blouse.

I'm a big fan of the pleated pants, but the cropped length is something I would love to try. Great great look!

Love the striped tee, I'm definitely in the market for one for spring. :)

I think this outfit is stunning on you. I can't decide if it's the stripes or just the effortlessness of it - probably both.

You look fantastic! I have pants in this style and people keep saying they're ugly. But I don't care, because that is me wearing what I want to wear and what I think it's good for me :)

Keep rocking London Babe, we hope you enjoy your trip. Bkisses :*

I love the socks&shoes combo, it looks great on you here - those trousers are awesome! I hope you are enjoying London - my old home town! I hope you have time to visit Portobello, Brick Lane and Spitalfields markets - oh how I miss those places!

Those pants are FANTASTIC! They look great on you and what better way to remember your trip than an article of clothing that you love- that's how I tend get my souvenirs. I'm glad you went on the Bloomsbury literary tour- I hope you enjoyed it! I can't help but be inspired when I am on the spot where some of my favorite artists lived, worked, wrote, and created!

It *is* a creative look, and you totally rock it! :) Plus the high-waist makes your legs look miles long – I feel like you always look tall, but you look super tall here!
