Honeymoon Stage

Honeymoon Stage

Works Cited
skirt: DIY
striped tee: gap
belt: urban outfitters
flats: steve madden

I sometimes feel like the first days of spring are like falling in love, those blissful honeymoon days before late August, when you are getting tired of your warm weather clothes and sweating constantly, and you're dreaming of a pair of jeans. But now, there is nothing better than the warm air and sunshine and digging through all your summery things.

Honeymoon Stage

P.S. I made this skirt, too! Using this pattern, of course. This is my favorite one yet.

I would have added colourful shoes maybe, this way it´s a bit "boring". But the fit is beyond comparison...perfect.

I think I'm still in the engagement stage of warm weather -- I'm hoping that it'll stay for good, but I don't feel like it's fully committed yet.

And I have got to try that skirt pattern -- it looks amazing!

AHdorable. I love your style, woman! Clean lines, simple patterns, and a little prep thrown in (that's how I would describe it). Oh, and an envious collection of skirts, bought and handmade!

Since I live in the land of no Summer or Winter, I love Spring and Fall because at least it's sunny and sometimes warm. I dread the foggy summer days when I'll be envious of your sweat-inducing heat!

Great skirt! You always look so polished. And thanks for your sweet comment about the DVF dress, it is truly amazing!

I'm already not looking forward to summer. It was 80 degrees here the other day, so I just know it's going to be 100 and with santa ana winds in no time! Too bad I cant tan =/ haha

I am excited to have found your blog! I too am a grad student (hoping to defend this diss this summer and starting my first TT job in the fall!).

I am so impressed you made that beautiful skirt!

Love the skirt! I am a little scared of the coming summer - I get way too conscious about wearing lighter, more revealing clothes, regardless of how much I love warm weather! :)

That settles it. I'm making this skirt this weekend. When I first saw the pattern, I loved the simplicity of it,but now seeing it here, I know it's a GO.
So weird. I had a sudden vision of making a hundred of them in every color and pattern imaginable...

Look at you... just sewing away. I should hire you to help me this summer... never mind, Ontario just raised minimum wage to $10.25 (!), I could never afford you...
You look classic and cute...bare legs!!

great outfit. I love that you said "works cited!" very nerdy indeed. And I agree about the honeymoon stage. In a few months or so I'm going to be longing for fall weather again so I can wear my other clothes!

I'm almost done making my skirt from the link you used. Sewing makes me nervous, so it takes me a while.

Your skirt is so cute! You did such a wonderful job.

My spring is still being a tease. there were a few nice days, followed by below freezing, then rain, and supposedly, will be nice again this weekend. For me, come august, I'm usually wishing for more summer.

Color! Shape! Skirts! Warm weather! Ah, spring. I really like the color of the skirt (good job, btw!). It's almost odd to see you without the usual layers upon layers, because I've mostly seen/started following you during the wintertime, hahaha. But I don't mean that in a bad way! I mean. Yay for spring!
