Last night, I began to make good on one of my two new year's resolutions: to take better advantage of the cultural (and otherwise fun) offerings of my small town. Christopher and I went to hear a piano concert of Bach and Schubert. The pianist gave great mini-lectures about the pieces between playing them (which totally piqued my nerdy interest in Bach's biography), and he played with such feeling that my eyes welled up during the Schubert. At intermission, I talked to the sweet old lady next to me about German literature.

As for the outfit, this great gray skirt is becoming my new favorite go-to, and I paired with some bright yellow today. I built the outfit around this great little yellow belt, which I love but hasn't been as versatile as I thought it would be. Every time I wear it, I love it, but I wish I were more inventive about what I paired it with. Any ideas? Over thin cardigans only, or could I put it over a pullover sweater? What color dresses can I put it over?

Maybe you could wear it with similar color pallets with which you'd wear your mustard cardigan! It'd probably look pretty w/ shades of blue.

I agree, I think blue would go so prettily with this yellow! Plus I personally think that because it's so thin, you can pair it with practically anything. You should experiment!

Well, you know what I'm going to say: ANY colour! anything dark 9navy, prurple, burgundy) would be nice I think.

Super cute outfit, and it's great that you're doing more cultural things! I would like to try that at some point, hopefully my life will be less busy soon.

Love the belt, I think you could definitely do a pullover. Or maybe a dark gray, white or even black button down shirt. I would definitely wear it with a plum colored dress, a pink dress or a turquoise dress.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Good afternoon dear! First: as always, you are so beautiful (: Second: I loved this yellow belt, you can easily wear it with blue cardigans (I know it works), also with green dresses (do you have any?), maybe the three: green dress, blue cardigan and yellow belt, hahaha, very Brazilian! This outfit is great! And look at these tights (gosh, why I can't find nice tights here?!)

Alex and I always go to see the National Orchestra playing and every time I go I almost fly. I feel like I am inside old Disney cartoons (remember Mickey and the little twister episode?) :P

Beijos, have a nice week!

I love the colour of your sweater x

I love Bach and Schubert! Baroque piano music is my favorite to play.

And I think you did really well playing with the yellow belt. I love how you paired it with a lighter yellow cardi and the gray and brown make it more wintery!

The colour of your sweater is delicious! It's making me think of shortbread biscuits. :o)

I think you should try that belt with some teal. And you could definitely wear it with a pullover, or even a long-sleeved t.

The yellow belt is fab! You could do it with purple, teal, more gray (on top), brown … yellow is super versatile. Look forward to seeing this belt again, and love it with this more subdued mix.

I really like the yellow paired with the gray - it's got such a great feel to it. I would say that the yellow belt could go with a ton! Not sure if I would do it over something bulky or not but I bet once the weather warms up you will find all kinds of things to pair it with.

I pair yellow with magenta, gray, teal, orange, mustard, navy, and purple. I have a tendency to treat some bright colors as neutrals. Haha.

I agree with any color dress! I would love Sal's suggestions - purple, teal.

I like the gray skirt, patterned tights and oxfords!

I think you did a great job incorporating the belt into this outfit - now it's in my head: gray, white, black and yellow.

It also seems like it would go well with dresses, but a thicker sweater might be too bulky.

I really love that skirt. It fits you perfectly.

I'd pair that belt with any shade of blue...navy, teal, cobalt.

Oh my goodness! I think your best color is yellow. That is what I have decided. Sooooo pretty...and feels like spring! :)

red! Actually I think just about anything in terms of color and items would probably go well with it. This outfit looks great on you--did you teach in it? Because it would definitely lend you authority while still keeping you young.

I'm currently LOVING grey with yellow. Though, I love grey with everything!
I really like that belt and the cardigan too - yellow normally makes me look like I have food poisoning, but little things like a belt or a stripe in a sweater work really well.
Super cute!

I'm in love with your buttery yellow cardigan, and this whole look!
And I think that belt would go with heaps of colours. I'd love to see it with purple.
