Back to the Playground

Back to the Playground

Works Cited
mint cords: j crew (on sale, of course)
blue top: via elaine (org. ae)
gray sweater: uo
scarf: hand-me-down
brown coat: h&m
gray converse: converse via zappos

I mailed Elaine an under-loved sweater of mine in exchange for this awesome top from her shop. She sent me the sweetest little note (with the neatest printing you've seen in your life!) along with the top. I LOVE the idea of trading clothes so much, I'm almost tempted to open my own "shop" and start trading out clothes I don't wear as much. It's like having a gaggle of sisters across the country with whom you trade clothes. If I did so, would you trade with me?

Back to the Playground

Tuesdays I mentor at the local middle school, but I somehow seem to be channeling the playground in today's ensemble with my sneakers and cords. This was one of those indecisive mornings where my entire closet ended up on the floor and I walked out of the house wearing the first thing I had put on (sigh). I have a busy day of classes and meetings and given my level of exhaustion and the mercury, all I wanted to do was curl up in something warm, so this rad shirt ended up paired with my beloved (but vanilla) cords and a bright scarf. Oh well--another morning, another remix of this AWESOME shirt that Elaine and I traded!

Aww love this! Definitely something I miss about home---swapping accessories with my sister.

It looks SO good on you!! I love that you paired it with light blue cords. It makes an interesting combination with the sneaks. And the colors of the scarf brings it all together. It definitely looks appropriate for a busy day!

I'm so glad you like it! And my handwriting! Unfortunately it doesn't look like that when I'm taking notes in class... ;)

And I want to trade with you!!!!

adorable! The scarf makes it!

I'd absolutely be interested in clothes trading! I always wanted to swap clothes with someone, but never had much of an opportunity. What a great way to curb some unnecessary spending and make good use of what we've got languishing in our closets!

As someone lacking in sisters, I'd be up for trades! I usually donate unwanted stuff, but a virtual swap would be so much fun!

The scarf is a fab finishing touch - I'd love to see it up close sometime.

oh I wish I could trade some clothes with you... last night I had a dream, it was about you inviting your readers to a sleepover party at your house :) I remember we were going to watch a movie about Brazilian poetry (hahaha) and your mum was with you at your living room. Then you told her that it would be a very funny and nice experience. (:

I love Converse, they look pretty on you.

Can you imagine that?

I also really loved that idea. Well executed!

Trading clothes sounds so much fun! I'm an only child, and my cousins were all older than me, so I never got to have that experience of trading clothes with people.

I'll definitely be considering it! it sounds exciting.

The scarf really does make the outfit, but even without it, everything looks really good together.

I would love to trade clothes, but I'm afraid we're too far away in sizes. :/

Guh, I hate those days when I can't seem to get dressed to save my life (which is why I usually pick out my outfits the night before now!) I love the faded mint color of the cords - and what a fun idea with the swap!

Can't believe you have mint cords, I want a pair!! I think it's a great idea, creating a place where people can swap clothes. It kind of reminds me of paperbackswap.com, it's a perfect idea for people to trade books with one another, and all they pay is shipping!! I'd trade!

FANTASTIC idea to swap clothes. I guess I've thought about doing it with my friends, but not with other fashionistas. I'll have to give it a go!

I love the scarf!

I would also love to do a swap! I don't have a sister, so I feel like I missed out on that whole aspect of sharing clothes.

VERY fun color combos here. It's comfy but still kinda flirty if that makes sense? And I think it's so neat that you guys are swapping clothes!

i love the idea of trading clothes. it gives clothing a second chance (and it's so much fun seeing how different people wear your clothes!) :)
you well it so well with these cords (and i'm in love with your jacket).

I'd trade. But you look thin and petite and I'm too big for Elaine's clothes myself. This is a great outfit!
