Since Kyla posted about wearing "big girl sweats" last week, I haven't been able to get her awesome casual ensemble out of my mind. I loved the lines of the wide-leg trousers with the moccasin flats. It was enough to send me into my basement to find my wide-leg khakis from my sophomore year in college (when, ahem, I was a few pounds heavier than I am now). A big belt did the trick for holding them up, and I tried to keep the silhouette sleek with the turtleneck (plus, it's freezing so a little extra neck warmth doesn't hurt).

I felt extremely comfortable, classic, and just a little bit chic when I added a big scarf and wool coat, which was just the thing for a day of reading at coffee shops, grocery shopping, and cleaning. Now I'm just on the lookout for a slouchy crewneck sweatshirt, which looks all too perfect for a cold day of running errands.

I'm a bike-riding bookworm in DC trying to make better use of a sometimes-vanilla closet. You can read a little more about this blog

With my body shape, I know I shouldn't be wearing wide leg trousers, but I love them. They look fantastic on you.

Oh I love this outfit, especially the crisp white wide-leg trousers! You look as though you are a Ralph Lauren model (:
You do look very Ralph Lauren! I really like the wide leg pants.
Oh, I love the silhouette of wide legged pants - it is very elegant but casual.

Just typed a big comment and it vanished... yeesh. Basically... I love the "sweats" and it gives me an idea for what to do with some pants that are recently a little bit loose in the waist - I'll wear them as comfy clothes!
I like how you kept it sleek on top to counteract the wide leg pants; nice balance!

Love this! Looks very balanced and chic...I really need to find a good pair of khakis.
You look like a modernized Annie Hall! I love this... I wish I could pull off wide-legged pants (maybe with a pair of heels... I'm pretty short).

Looking good! I like the combination of the slimmer top with the wider bottom.
You look fabulous! Very very nice layering :)
(:
Great interpretation! I love it with the sleek top. Thanks for the shout out!

Oh, you look super chic! The "big girl sweats" is a great idea!
I think this is a testament to why light-colored pants, if done correctly, don't make you look larger (which seems to be a fashion fear for many). You look so tall and trim, but also intellectual and comfy at the same time! Great!

This outfit is so simple and perfect. Chic, sleek, and beautiful. I love it!
I really want a wide-legged pair of khaki pants and I haven't found a good pair yet! I love yours!
I love the leg of these pants! So comfy and chic on you. I also like wearing lighter colours in the winter (despite the getting dirty very fast factor) because they brighten up a winter's day.
