Sunday Bonus

Holiday Weekend in Review

Works Cited:
black dress: gap (gift from sister)
belt: mommed
teal tights: gap
brogues: steve madden
earrings: probably claire's (sigh. embarrassing.)

My sister and I both purchased each other this black dress from gap (on sale for $14, can you believe it?) for Christmas, and for good reason! It has some personality (great buttons and tuxedo detail, and an extra-thick hem) and it's made of nice thick cotton. And it's a flexible enough design to accommodate a lot of remixing--I can't wait to layer this over a button-down, under sweaters, with loads of different belts, with boots and flats, and into the summer with sandals and scarves in my hair. I'm not sure I entirely like the teal tights with the brogues and brown belt, but seeing as I'm traveling and don't have access to all the pieces I might want (black flats, for instance), I'm just working with what I've got. And who knows--maybe teal with brown will be the next big thing...

I love the look of an all-black outfit with colourful tights. Makes people wonder.

Teal and brown is always a good thing! Plus, the brown is closer to cognac, which plays nicely off of the black centerpiece. Two "pops of color", working in harmony. I found your blog recently through the variety of other fashion blogs I read...first time commenting. Happy New Year!
